These automobile parts are generally much better to run into, and much more auto repair retailers and retail stores generally hold after-market vehicle parts as opposed to OEM vehicle parts. That is one of the big benefits to buying those types of car parts, but another is they are significantly less expensive than OEM car parts. This is touched on in the last paragraph about OEM parts, but after-market vehicle parts are usually 50% or more less than the original manufacturer's car parts.
With that said, it is really up to the person and the situation when the car is being serviced. Many people choose OEM auto parts just because they are the safest type of parts to go with, but arguments for third-party automobile parts are because they're much cheaper are more accessible.
